Abstract

|
Bacteriological studies were carried out in order to observe the homogenicity of the isolated strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa from vaginal cavities. Although some strains have lost pyocyanine production by subculture, all strains have maintained oxidase formation and most strains were confined to pyocin typo I of Gillies and Govan´s formula. Except slight strain difference of sensitivity against polymyxin B, all strains showed homogenicity in sensitivities to gentamicin, colistin and polymyxin B. All test strains also confined to single sego-type 6 of Homma scheme.
By above assay, it was possible to comfirm the interesting finding of homogenicity of vaginal strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
